Catch up on poetry trips 2012-2013 ...

Hi an update on a few things!

The Mid West poetry reading tour was a great success, with readings in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, plenty of photos and a new poem 'Prayer from the Flint Hills. October saw us having an encounter with Hurricane Sandy in New York, when we took our two eldest grandchildren on a week's visit to Manhattan. My two poetry gigs were cancelled, which wasn't an issue, we did manage to meet up with our good friend and fab poet George Wallace. Our hearts and thoughts went out to those affected by Sandy. I was delighted to have a poem of mine titled 'No Place' accepted for publication in an anthology called 'Songs of Sandy'

It's now 2013 and workshops and readings are happily piling up and jostling me for attention. This week sees me on the road and heading south-eastwards to Suffolk County UK, tutoring on a poetry workshop hosted by Suffolk Poetry Society, this is followed by a reading and an open mic. Both events will be held at Ipswich University, details can be found on the Suffolk Poetry Society website, courtesy of Ian Griffiths.

Other workshops include 'Walking Stories/Leaving Footprints' Ulverston Cumbria UK; judging and running a workshop for the Society of Medical Writers (SOMW) London; 'Walking North' Dumfriesshire, thank you Emma Strang; Carte Blanche Newcastle, invited by Pippa Little and two creative writing workshops at Brantwood, Coniston Cumbria, June and August. I'll post links shortly for workshops and readings.

Exciting news, too, my next poetry collection ‘Salt Road’ will be published by the very supportive and widely respected publishers “Indigo Dreams” in summer 2013.

Meanwhile, here we are in a new year and hopefully I'll meet up with some of you along the way!
