‘WRITE TO ROAM’ CREATIVE WRITING
WORKSHOPS 2014
WITH CUMBRIAN WRITER GERALDINE GREEN
This ongoing series of monthly creative writing workshops
explores where we live, how we dwell, 'deep
maps', memory and myth. Through a variety of writing exercises, stimuli,
feedback and reflective walks we will look at links between identity, language
and environment. Whether through poetry, stories, travel writing, dreams or
journals, these workshops encourage us to explore where and how we live, and
how we take experience and memories with us when we travel to other places, real
or imagined.
An experienced creative writing tutor
and mentor, I’ve had five collections of poetry published; gained a PhD in
Creative Writing titled: “An Exploration of Identity and Environment through
Poetry” from Lancaster University. Travels and readings have taken me mainly to
Europe and North America, where I’ve read at a variety of venues on the East
and West coasts and the Mid West.
